Default data format error

I used a Excel file as mailmerge's data source.But the data,such as 2.4, in
excel, changed to a long format,such as 2.39999999, in word document. I
don't want these changes.Some suggestions?
Thanks

Hi,

You'll probably find that your Excel data really is as Word shows it, but
you've got the cells in Excel formatted to show the rounded off result. To
achieve a rounded off result in Word, you can either round the data off
correctly in Excel, or apply a numeric picture switch to the Word
MERGEFIELD. To do the latter:
.. select the Word MERGEFIELD and press Shift-F9. You should see something
like-
{MERGEFIELD ExcelData}
.. edit the Word MERGEFIELD to look like-
{MERGEFIELD ExcelData \# 0.0}
.. press F9
.. run your mailmerge.

See Word's help file for more information on field formatting

Cheers
