Unless I open Word 2002 before I copy, the paste option is not available. Why?

I have been told in these newsgroups that, on opening, Word clears the Windows Clipboard as it initialises the Office Clipboard. This is not, in fact, true. If you got Word as part of Works Suite and have not uninstalled the
Microsoft Works Suite Add-in for Word, that is the problem: it clears the Clipboard when you start Word. -- Suzanne S.
