Changing merge fields to upper case
Is there a way that I can get a data source field (that is in lower case) to
be inserted in UPPER CASE in the main Word merged document? I know you might say "why not just make the data source field upper case in the first place", but I use the same data to merge to other documents where I want them to be in lower case, so would like to have control over how they appear in the main document after merging. Many thanks. |

Changing merge fields to upper case
Hi ?B?R2VvZmYgQnVkZA==?=,
Is there a way that I can get a data source field (that is in lower case) to be inserted in UPPER CASE in the main Word merged document? Yes. You can add a formatting switch to the mergefield code. Alt+F9 toggles the field results / field coddes. { Mergefield LastName \* UPPER } Cindy Meister INTER-Solutions, Switzerland http://homepage.swissonline.ch/cindymeister (last update Jun 17 2005) http://www.word.mvps.org This reply is posted in the Newsgroup; please post any follow question or reply in the newsgroup and not by e-mail :-) |

Answer: Changing merge fields to upper case
Yes, you can change merge fields to upper case in Microsoft Word. Here's how:
You can repeat this process for any other merge fields that you want to appear in upper case. Remember to remove the "\* Upper" code if you want the merge field to appear in its original case in other merged documents.
