Creating custom Avery Business Cards
I am trying to create a custom business card based on the Avery 8371 form. I
notice that there are many pre-designed forms available to download from the MS site, but I cannot modify them to suite my needs. Some have graphics, and place-holders for text, but I am SOL if I wish to make any modifications to these templates, such as moving or removing the graphics and/or text placeholders. Is there a way I can either modify a template, or create my own? Of course, as this is a business card template with 10 cards to the page, I really only want to make changes to one card and have these changes replicated onto the remainder of the 9 other cards on the form. |

Go into the Envelopes and Labels feature, select the Avery business card,
and tell it that you want a new document based on that. You'll have a full sheet of blank labels to work with. -- JoAnn Paules MVP Microsoft [Publisher] Tech Editor for "Microsoft Publisher 2007 For Dummies" "Jack_Sprat" wrote in message ... Creating custom Avery Business Cards
JoAnn.. thanks for the reply..
I did this, and it seems to work ok, with the exception that I have to manually copy over the information from the first card, into the cells for the remaining cards. I can live with this, but would rather have one card designed so that the remainder of the form is populated identically from the first card. Also, I would like to insert a placeholder for some text on the form, in effect, creating my own template so that when given to others, they can simply replace the placeholder text in the first card, and it will automatically populate the remaining cards on the form. I am sure this is possible, since all the templates provided by MS use this technique. btw.. I am using Word 2007 ( it was suggested I use Publisher in another post, but I do not have that program.. only Word 2007) Thanks!! I too was going to suggest Publisher.
Copy and paste isn't that difficult and you can maintain a text box for the text you want to be able to change. -- JoAnn Paules MVP Microsoft [Publisher] Tech Editor for "Microsoft Publisher 2007 For Dummies" "Jack_Sprat" wrote in message ... Creating custom Avery Business Cards
Ok.. let's backstep a bit..
There are numerous business card templates on the MS site available for download and they make use of placeholders for text. The user just has to enter the information into the first card, and it is automatically populated into the remainder of the cards on the page. How do I create my own business card template? Is there a tutorial or something online for doing this with MS Word 2007? "JoAnn Paules" wrote: I too was going to suggest Publisher.
