Define the contacts list as an Outlook address book in Outlook. You may have
to delete the address book (NOT THE CONTACTS LIST) from Outlook and add it again. (minor anoyance) The last thing I want to do, is use the Outlook contacts in Word to print envelopes and labels. As per your advice, how do I Define the contacts list as an Outlook address book in Outlook and where do I find it to delete it? Pardon me my 75 years old brain, but I would appreciate little more explanation. Than you for your patience and kindness. Letec |

There are two issues here.
1. The Outlook Express address book is fine for e-mail but is not compatible with Word (unless you have the expensive corporate solution called Microsoft Exchange.) 2. Outlook contacts list is transparently linked to the Outlook address book, which is intended to be linked to Word to provide addresssing for envelopes etc. By importing an older PST file in the manner described, it is probably not set as an Outlook address book. The simple solution, which *may* work is to right click the contacts list in the left window of Outlook and select properties. On the Outlook Address Book tab, check the box to show the folder as an E-mail Address Book. With an old data file this might not work correctly, in which case, from the tools e-mail accounts view or change existing directories or address books. Delete the Outlook Address book (and any other address book listed). Add 'additional address books' and add the Outlook address book again. If you add more than one contacts list to Outlook, you need to set the outlook address book property as described earlier for each, if you want them all available to Word. -- Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org letec wrote: Define the contacts list as an Outlook address book in Outlook.
