If you are talking about a hand-written signature (what we call in the US
'your John Hancock', you could write it out on a piece of paper, scan just
that in, then add as an image in your document file??

But be aware that anybody who gets an electronic copy of your letter can
extract the image and "sign" your name to anything he or she wants. One of
the typists at my work got a copy of the chief engineer's signature file.
Whenever anybody wanted to modify the rigging plan for a critical lift, she
modified the drawing and then inserted the engineer's signature. He "signed"
lots of drawings he had never seen, some of which used underrated shackles or
incorrect sling placement. (She lost her job, and fortunately nobody got
hurt.)

If they want to steal your signature, they can just as well scan it from a
paper copy.
