I'm not sure what you are asking since you successfully posted a
question about a question you were was trying to post and you clicked
a "Post" button to post it.

I am also confused. I would like to post a new question. I click on "New"
with the drop down that says "Question" and a little question mark next to
it in a reddish circle, or "general comment". I then click on "Question"
and nothing happens. I know that now I am replying to a previously posted
question, because I don't know what else to do. I don't seem to have any
problem with the "reply" button. What am I doing wrong? What is the correct
way to do this?

Stop using the web interface. It sucks at best. (There! I've finally said
it.) Use Outlook Express or another newsreader or even Google Groups. Any of
those choices are better than the web interface.

Thank you Stefan, I have also not been able to post a comment. The reason is
because I was not allowing popups. When I clicked the link you included, I
noticed the band at the top of the page asking me if I would allow the pop

In the web interface, just click the New button (in the General Questions
forum), and then click Question. You will then be prompted to log in. If
your browser is set to block popups, you won't see the form to ask the
question, though. Instead, you will have to click New | Question again.

I'm having the same problem. I can't post my question. When I
click on
question, a hand appears but no box like this comes up. Help
please.

I am also confused. I would like to post a new question. I
click on
"New"
with the drop down that says "Question" and a little question
mark next
to
it in a reddish circle, or "general comment". I then click on
"Question"
and nothing happens. I know that now I am replying to a
previously
posted
question, because I don't know what else to do. I don't seem
to have
any
problem with the "reply" button. What am I doing wrong? What
is the
correct
way to do this?

I'm not sure what you are asking since you successfully
posted a
question about a question you were was trying to post and
you clicked
a "Post" button to post it.

first of all, i can only post by hitting reply to someone else's post. i've
read suggestions but don't understand about using different interface. it has
taken me one hour to even figure out how to find a space to write this!

but why i am TRYING to post is because i want to configure windows mail so
that when i view messages from or to a given sender, it shows me those
messages chronolgically and not alphabetically. who wants them
alphabetically?

Unfortunately, you're asking in a MS Word newsgroup a question that
has nothing to do with Word!

When you do have a question about Word, the simplest way to post it
here is to go through a "newsreader" for "newsgroups" -- most easily,
go to Google, click More in the line at the top, choose "Groups," and
this one is microsoft.public.word.docmanagement You'll find a link "+
new post" that lets you start a new thread with your question.

I don't know what windows mail is, but usually you can order a list by
clicking in the header for the column you want the order in (maybe
it's called "date"). There's probably a triangle in its corner that
you can click to change it from oldest to newest.

I, too have tried to post a new question and have resorted to post it under
reply. It is a new question and I probably won't even get an answer but.....
When I download from my gmail account it takes me to Microsoft Word 2003.
However, It is coded in some way so I can't read it. I've tried everything.
Any help? And if anyone knows how to post this question SOMEWHER, ANYWHERE,
I'd appreciate it. Thanks
