Default how do i reduce the amount of "nudge" when trying to align text

How are you "aligning text"? Dragging the indent markers on the ruler,
setting tab stops, or what?

If you are dragging (something), the increments depend on the settings
for the document grid; you can hold the Alt key to override the grid,
or use a dialog box to set the exact measurements.

To change the settings for the grid, click the Draw button on the
Drawing toolbar, and then click Grid.
