Default problems with typing

My cursor is smaller than the text it is typing. The font is set at 12, but
the cursor, the line that guides where my text is, looks like it is set at
10. Yet when I type, the text appears as size 12 font. What's wrong with my
cursor and how can I fix it? I need help ASAP PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Set the zoom size to 500% then back to your usual setting (100%?)

Wow! Thank you! It worked perfectly! I can't believe that's all that had to
be done!
But thank you for your quick response and help, I really appreciate it!

It's just a small bug in the application. If you find it happening again
regularly you could record the sequence in a macro and attach the macro to a
toolbar button. Quick response is just a measure of the fact that I am an
insomniac - and this passes the time
