Change Page number to NONE after section break
I have inserted a section break to change from no numbers to Roman numerals
in the TOC (2nd section). For the main doc (3rd section), I have inserted a section break to move to Arabic numbers. In the 4th section, I don't want any numbers; but the numbering starts again with 1. When I click Blank or remove the page numbers, the numbers are removed from both section 3 and 4. How do I keep numbers in section 3 but keep them from appearing in section 4? |

Change Page number to NONE after section break
Unlink the header (or footer, depending on where your page numbers reside)
of section 4. You'll find a button on the Header and Footer toolbar (Word 2003) or the Header & Footer Tools Design tab of the ribbon (Word 2007). After you've unlinked the header (footer), you can delete the page number in the header (footer). Under Page Layout, select the Different First Page option. Then you will see
that H&Fs now have a separate H&F for first page (of a new section). Unlink the following pages H&F from the first Page H&F and then remove the page number from the first page. -- Terry Farrell - MSWord MVP "Stefan Blom" wrote in message ... Header/Footer are never linked to First Page Header/Footer in the first
place. Linking occurs only between like headers/footers, so the First Page Header/Footer in one section is linked to the First Page Header/Footer (if any) in the previous section, the Header/Footer to the Header/Footer in the previous section, and so on. -- Suzanne S.
