Default Word takes long time to load

Ever since MS Word was reinstalled on my machine, it takes long time to load.
It's the same if I double click on a document or on the MS Word shortcut on
the start menu.

On the start menu I put in a switch of /a to the shortcut. Now when I use
the start menu it opens quickly but it still takes a long time if I double
click the document. I have also tried going to Tools-Templates and Add Inns
and looked for the template. It was Normal.dot and I again attached
Normal.dot. It didn't help. The other thing that I have noticed is that if I
disable my internet connection, Word loads quickly.

Please help. Thanks in advance.
