Default Email Merge: Need to have URL show as active hyperlink

I have a merge datasource that has a field that holds a URL.

I want to use email merge. When I drop in that field on the main document,
after the merge is done, the field is simply text. How do I make it an
active hyperlink?

Each record has a different value in the URL field. So, the solution has to
be dynamic and set at "merge" time.

thanks!

What version of Word are you using? For hyperlinks to be preserved, you
need Word XP with SP2 as a minimum
