Ok let me say this, I do not have a trial version, I bought office 2007
through my school. ANd it has been on my computer for almost a year and a
half

I am trying to complete an assignment but when i try to modify text, I keep
getting the message,

"modification cannot be completed the selection is locked"

Again I reitterate I don't have a trial version and have never had this
problem before?

Any answers in the settings of the document or properties?
