More than one footnote in line
Hello,
I am writing a dissertation and quite often need to cite to one source a number of times (e.g. "John Smith, 'Book' 13", "Ibid 25, "Ibid 40", etc.). As a result, a large part of my page is filled with footnotes (I'm not allowed to use endnotes); which is a pain because there's a page limit. So my question is: how do you set footnote settings so that there can be more than one footnote in one line of text (here's an example of what I have in mind: http://books.google.co.uk/books?id=6...346%22&f=false) I tried to find the answer using Google but failed. I'd appreciate your help. Thank you. |

More than one footnote in line
Unfortunately, no. You can manage to get more than one footnote on a line,
but Word will still allow as much space as if they were stacked. -- Suzanne S. Barnhill Microsoft MVP (Word) Words into Type Fairhope, Alabama USA http://word.mvps.org "bartw" wrote in message ... More than one footnote in line
Set tab stops for the desired spacing/alignment. Then insert a tab character
at the end of one footnote and delete its paragraph break; the following footnote will come up to that tab stop. If you've allowed for three on a line, then repeat the process for the third. -- Suzanne S. Barnhill Microsoft MVP (Word) Words into Type Fairhope, Alabama USA http://word.mvps.org "bartw" wrote in message ... Thank you very much, Suzanne! May I ask how to get more than one footnote on a line then? (even if Word will still leave extra space) Suzanne S. Barnhill;466916 Wrote: Unfortunately, no.
