Word 2007 - Printing Custom Sizes
My appologies if I am in the wrong forum. I need to print a document on a 5.5 x 8.5 sheet of paper from Word 2007 using the Protrait Orientation. I have selected the Page Layout ribbon, selected the Size option, then the Paper tab from the Page Setup window, choosen Custom Size and entered 5.5 and 8.5 for width and height. My printer (HP1200) is set to print "User Defined Paper Size (5.50 x 8.50 in.). The printer still prints as if it is set for 8.5 x 11 in. I reviewed other threads on this issue and the fix is always in the printer. I'm not so lucky it appears. Is this my printer or is Word 2007 the culprit? Thanks, denny -- dslocum |

Word 2007 - Printing Custom Sizes
Is it a matter of how you feed the paper? Where on a Letter sheet does the

Word 2007 - Printing Custom Sizes
Instead of Custom size, try setting the paper to "HalfPage"

Word 2007 - Printing Custom Sizes
The user (a client of ours) is using a HP 4050 serier printer, Windows XP Pro and Word 2007; the document prints from the middle of the sheet of paper and continues off the right hand side of the paper. In my Word, I have the ability to select the SIZE option from the Page Layout Ribbon and select User Defined Paper Size. On my HP 1200 series printer I have the ability to enter both Custom Size Pages and User Defined Page Sizes. When I selected User Defined and set the Heigth and Width to 5.5" and 8.5" in my printer's Properties section, it worked perfectly. The client claims that his Word doesn't show the User Defined option and he cannot find it in his Printer's Properties either. I found the following at a HP Support Tech Site but I am not savvy enough to understand it ( I don't know what is meant by the term Program Manager). Does this help anyone out there help me???? 1. From Program Manager , open Main , Control Panel , and Printers . 2. Highlight your HP LaserJet printer's PCL6 driver and click Setup . 3. Select the Paper tab and click Custom . 4. Name the custom paper size (user defined). 5. Set the X dimension (normally the short edge). 6. Set the Y dimension (normally the long edge). 7. Click OK on the Custom Screen. 8. The default paper size has changed. Select the preferred default size and click OK . Thanks again, denny -- dslocum |
