4 to a page HORIZONTAL layout in Office 2003 Word
Even in Landscape, Word does not print multiples on same page horizontally.
Have tried four pages- with all pages to print on one page, and print range 1,1,1,1 and every time is comes out printing in Portrait. Have confirmed landscape in both print setup and printer properties. Needed to print out 1/4 pg fliers on 8.5 x 11 page. Workaround? Import from/to PowerPoint? |

Using a landscape oriented document and printing it to the Adobe PDF
printer, using the "printer's" 4 pages per sheet option and with the printer layout set to landscape, will achieve what you want. If you do not have the full version of Adobe, you may have to start with a landscape sheet and insert a 2 x 2 table and then size your text so that it fits in one cell and then copy it to the other cells of the table. -- Hope this helps. By copying the one page doc (for a total of 4 pgs) and converting all four pages to Acrobat Professional 7.0, then following your steps, I finally succeeded. Still some margin issues that Word & printer can't avoid- so I'll have to take those into account next time- meaning less copy, larger fonts. For this one, I think we'll have to go with a Quark or other publishing tool- as it is, by the time margins are accounted for, there's at least a 1/2" margin around every section. Can the 'image size' or print window be adjusted to bleed closer to the edges? This may be a limitation of the printer itself, but even the 'internal margins', between each 'page' of the doc are 1/2"+, as the minimum margin settings are .25" left and .32" right. Again, though my current flier has a lot of copy that seems to be a job for a publishing tool (and different printer), in the future your method is spot on. Thanks. |
