Microsoft word 2003 (Student edition) doesn't associate with *.doc
Hi,
I have word 2003 (student edition) installed on my machine. The problem is... Word doesn't associate itself with the .doc extension. I tried to open a word document, it shows up the open with screen.... I select winword.exe in OFFICE11 folder. Winword.exe doesn't get appended to the list of recommended programs nor does it open the word document. Let me know how to overcome this issue. Regards, Murali. |

First see how to re-register Word when problems crop up opening files
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/ReRegisterWord.htm and if that doesn't fix it select a document in Windows Explorer, right click and choose Open with... From the ensuing dialog select Word (winword.exe) and check the box to always open with this application. -- Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org Sidd wrote: Hi, I have word 2003 (student edition) installed on my machine. Hi Graham,
Thanks for the reply.... I am not able to open up the URL "http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/ReRegisterWord.htm " and option 2 that you mentioned... (selecting the always open with box..) I tried this option many a time, but ended without luck. Let me know if you can provide me with an alternate URL or alternate solution. Regards, Murali. The link is working here, but try removing the extra space from the end of
the URL and see if that helps. -- Suzanne S. Barnhill Microsoft MVP (Word) Words into Type Fairhope, Alabama USA "Sidd" wrote in message ... Hi Graham, Thanks for the reply....
