Header/Footer Grayed Out in Normal Template
Some how I have lost the ability to "Insert Autotext" in a header or footer
of a new doc. That option is grayed out for both. Tried redoing normal.dot from an existing doc but didn't work. Actually, I may have changed all existing formats by an injudicious (aka uneducated) keystroke. Anyway, really would like to get my header/foot autotext option back. Any help would be appreciated. Thx in advance. Dave |

Replacing normal.dot with another document is a recipe for disaster! Only
Word can make a normal.dot! Thank you Charles - Got my (very simple) normal.dot back, complete with
header/footer autotext entries. Should have mentioned this is Office 2003, which, from day one, has had another trick. On opening a new doc, the cursor starts out in the header. I have yet figured out how to get it down into the body of the doc when a new doc is selected. Any suggestion would be appreciated. Thx again Dave. "Charles Kenyon" wrote in message ...
