word plays a sound 3secs after i stop typing
Word 2003, outlook 2003 and other programs sound a ringing sound about 3
seconds after I finish on the keyboard. How do i turn this off? It's bloody irritating! I have a DELL latitude that I have recently purchased. |

Go to the Windows Control Panel, open the Sounds and Audio icon, and
click the Sounds tab. In the list of programs and events, remove any sounds that you don't want. But I don't know of any event that occurs 3 seconds after typing stops... If you can't find the one that bothers you, you could just mute the speaker. Most Dell laptops have a button specifically for that, or you can use the sound icon in the system tray near the clock. -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org Email cannot be acknowledged; please post all follow-ups to the newsgroup so all may benefit.
