I know. I hit enter before I was done and obviously shouldn't have. I
was trying to enter an additional comment to the table of contents message
about all numbers coming up as 2 or 3 or something instead of the actual page
numbers; that's the "same problem" I am having.

Is this when opening a document attached to an email? If so, you need
to clear the "Allow starting in Reading layout" option in Tools
Options, General tab.

On the other hand, if the problem occurs with a specific document,
