Changing units of measurement
Having moved from Ireland to the US I'd like to use "Letter" size
instead of A4, and also to see the ruler in inches. Is this a setting in Word 2002 or in WinXP. I used to be able to do it so easily in Win98 & Word 97, but now?????? David |

The ruler in Word can be changed by clicking on Tools | Options |
General | Measurement units: Inches | OK. The default paper size can be changed in Start | Control Panel | Printers | right-click on your printer | Properties. Thank you very much. Just one other thing... Having just changed from
Word 97 to 2002 I really don't like the Task pane, there's just not enough space on a laptop screen. I have turned it off a few times in Options, but the pesky thing keeps re-appearing. Can I zap it so it never come back?
