In Word, click on File | Page Setup | Layout | Vertical alignment: Top |
Default | OK. If you are prompted to save changes to your normal.dot global template when you exit Word, say yes. "kharrion" wrote: On any new document, when i hit return, the cursor drops two thirds of the way down the page for the next sentence! |

Another possibility to check if garfield-n-odie's suggestion doesn't work...
go to FormatParagraph and make sure that Spacing Before/After and Line Spacing are correctly set. the cursor drops two thirds of the way down the page The behavior you describe doesn't sound like a Vertical Alignment issue. 'Center' would keep you in the middle of the page & 'Justified' would put content at opposite margins (top & bottom). It could also be due to an accidental modification of a Style, but try the other ideas first.
