I have added a hyperlink in one Word document to a Word template. However,
clicking on the hyperlink takes me to the template master copy rather than
opening a new Word document.

Does anyone know how I could change the hyperlink to open a new Word
document from the Word template?

That is how it works, Having said that, check the following which will get
around the issue.

Hi Brian,

I have tried this from hyperlinks in excel to a Word template and cannot
seem to get it to work. Perhaps I don't quite understand the instructions for
entering in the hyperlink to the shortcut manually? I have entered
c:\templates\shortcut to template.dot.lnk and it still opens it up as a .dot
file.
