Hi, 6th time lucky. My guess is that you do not have the Alternative
User Input features installed. 6th time lucky wrote: Dosent work... i get to Click on the little downward-pointing triangle at the bottom right corner of the Language toolbar, and make sure the "Speak Text" option is checked. there is no option... just help, settings, restore defaults.... It seems quite counter-intuative to install alternative user input freatures, for an *output* (go microsoft!). I have googled for that that and found very little except for some updates for it. However i also found during this search that text-to-speech is a "hidden" office feature, which i should install from the CD. Now the problem is i dont have access to the CD. No i havnt pirated it, i have a corporate install c/o the university... so i would have to deal with helpdesk, job numbers, etc, just so i can see if it will work... you would think there would be somewhere i could just download it from. (it wasnt until i found the complete office service pack files that i updated my office from RTM to SP3), office update was no help. ugh.. too hard... (but thanks anyway) |

Correct, the text-to-speech feature is not installed automatically in a
typical installation. You have to choose a custom installation, and select the text-to-speech feature in... Alternative User Input. 6th time lucky wrote: Hmm, ok, ta.
