Default How to retrieve table gridlines in Word Doc have disappeared?

I was working in Word this afternoon, and setup a bunch of tables for
signature lines and whatever. Well, I opened up the "New Office Document"
and selected "Elegant Fax" to print out and fax off something.

And, when I got back into my Office 2003 Word documents, I couldn't see any
tables. I mean, they are still there, but instead of seeing light grey
gridlines that I didn't want to print out, it's just white space. The
darker, black lines I used for underlines (choosing a "bottom border") still
show, just not the grey lines (which would be helpful for editing purposes.

I've opened up past documents with tables, and can not see them. If I
create a new document, I can see them, however if I copy/paste from an old
document to a new document, I cannot see the grid lines.

Is there some setting I messed up? I've rebooted, powered off, said a few
prayers, nothing. Any ideas?

Well, I'm stupid. There is this little, hard to see option under "Table"
that reads "Show Gridline" or "Hide Gridline".

Time to go home.
