Embedded PureEdge Form (.xdfl) does not open correctly
Whenever I embed a PureEdge form in Word 2007, the icon shows up and appears
to work properly. However, when I try to open the form, the form viewer opens but the form is not displayed. By the way, PureEdge forms have a .xfdl file extension. Any suggestions? |

Embedded PureEdge Form (.xdfl) does not open correctly
Hi Miguel,
How are you embedding an XFDL form in Word 2007? Running PE viewer 6.5 works for me in Word 2007 when double clicking on an XFDL Object icon if I linked to a .XFDL form, but the viewer opens separately without a form if you use either the icon or link options in Insert=Object. Hyperlink in a Word document to an XFDL form also works to start the viewer but not pull up the form so perhaps a change is needed in the file file association setting in Windows or a command line switch link to the viewer. You may want to check with the folks in the IBM Lotus forms discussion group on this. (UWI became PureEdge, which became IBM Workplace forms and currently Lotus Forms) http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/fo...pa?forumID=782 The PureEdge forms are basically XML based and there can be issues with different versions of the viewer vs different XFDL (eXtensible Forms Description Language) form versions, but I don't have it available to test with Word 2007, so it's not clear if the viewer has limitations on being operated/embedded into Word 2007. The forms tend to be binary packaged XML elements so they usually can't be opened directly in Word or Internet explorer. =============== "miguelg66" wrote in message ... Embedded PureEdge Form (.xdfl) does not open correctly
Thanks Bob,
I have tried embedding the form by using the insert object method and the paste special method and all that happens when I double click the icon is that the PE viewer opens with no form. I will try the IBM lotus forms discussion group as you suggested. Thanks for trying. Miguel "Bob Buckland ?:-)" wrote: Hi Miguel, How are you embedding an XFDL form in Word 2007?
