Default automatic incremental counter

I need to insert an automatic incremental counter on a raffle ticket
template, so that each ticket has a unique number.

Default automatic incremental counter

Thanks. My situation is that I have a template that I want to use for raffle
tickets, and I don't have to merge the document. I know there is a function
in WordPerfect for this because I've used it successfully, but I can't find
its equivalent in Word.

When in Rome ......
Merge will do the job - or stick to WordPerfect.
