How do I get Word to stop recognizing every single indention I make or every
space I take when I am typing a document?

Default Microsoft Word 2003 Question

In addition to what Graham has said, Word does not "recognize" indentions;
it does display a tab character. If you're using a tab character instead of
a first-line indent, then you're wasting energy.
