Formatting Footer Page Numbers
Hi,
I am trying to insert chapter and page numbers in a footer. I have successfully located the options for designating Heading 1 as the Chapter and I have no problem getting this to show with the page number (1-1) in the footer. My question to everyone is, how do you edit the chapter so that it is 1.0 instead of 1? I'd like the page numbers to be in the following format: Chapeter 1: 1.0-1 1.0-2 Chapter 2: 2.0-1 2.0-2 etc. Thank you in advance for your help. Greg |

Hi Greg
I think we'll need a bit more information before we can help you. Can you tell us - what version of Word are you using? - are you using Heading 2 style for your sub-headings? Is it numbered (eg as 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, ... 2.1, 2.2)? - what does the zero in 1.0 signify? - if x is the page number, will the footer ever say 1.1-x or 2.1-x? Shauna Shauna Kelly.
