Don't update date when printing, saving or closing
If you mean you don't want the date to change when you print, save etc on
another date from that on which the document was created then that is not possible. The better way is to save the fixed elements of your document as a template and before saving change the date field for createdate field - ALT+F9 change {DATE \@ "d MMM yyyy"}or {TIME \@ "d MMM yyyy"} to {CREATEDATE \@ "d MMM yyyy"} then F9 and ALT+F9. The switches \@ "d MMM yyyy" may be different at your location. Then create new documents from the template rather than modify the document. -- Graham Mayor - Word MVP My web site www.gmayor.com Word MVP web site http://word.mvps.org Kristopher wrote: I am creating a document using word 2003.
