microsoft.public.word.docmanagement: How do I set up the 'out of office' auto reply in outlook express for my emails Please ask your question in the correct newsgroup. This one is about Microsoft Word, not Outlook Express. A big WARNING: beware of the dreaded autoreply loop: * Someone sends you email. * You send them an autoreply. * By the time the autoreply reaches destination, they are also out of office. * They autoreply to your autoreply to their email. * You autoreply to their autoreply to your autoreply to their email. * They autoreply to your autoreply to their autoreply to your autoreply to their email. * You autoreply to their autoreply to your autoreply to their autoreply to your autoreply to their email. Et cetera ad infinitum, or until one of you comes back in the office and discovers 10000 emails in the mailbox, or until one or both mail servers crash. The ONLY correct place to configure an autoreply would be in the mail server, with the condition that only one autoreply per week is sent to each address. With a simple mail client like Outlook Express: no can do. -- Amedee Van Gasse |
