Numbered Lists
I am working on a long document where I have to cut and paste from one document into another. The original document has headings which are fine when I copy them across. Sub-headings which I put in an auto-number so that no matter where I copy them into they automatically re-number themselves in the correct order, afain this is good.
The not so good thing is that under the sub-headings are numbered lists i.e. 1, 2, 3 now when I copy these across I don't want them to automatically re-number I want them to keep their original numbering. I will then end up with lists not running into 100's but keeping their original numbering ender their respective sub-headings. Is this possible? The document also has a large number of graphics which use the caption text these do not automatically update which would be really useful. I know that I can select all then use F9 which is not a problem except that if I have manually re-numbered the numbered lists it then sets them back to run consecutively which of course I don't want. I have a very tight deadline and these simple issues are causing me major problems. Any help greatly appreciated. Many thanks |
