Default Blank page

I am hoping someone can help. This problem occurs in both Word and Excel.

In word I tried to insert clip art on to a page. Initially the clip art
appears, however if I then scroll down to the next page (so picture is not
visable anymore) and then scroll back uo the picture disappears.

The picture itself is still on the screen is has just become white if you
double click on the area the picture will reappear but continues to
disappears when the page is left.

The same thisn happens in excel with the drawing functions (arrows/lines/etc).

Please could some one help.

Try reducing or turning off hardware acceleration in Start |
Control Panel | Display | Settings | Advanced | Troubleshooting.
If this fixes the problem, then you might want to check the
website of the manufacturer of your video card/graphics adapter
to see if there is an updated driver available.
