Default Insert date leaves date field gray

aI inserted a date from Insert Menu to automaticlly update. Box is gray but
it suppose to turn white after clicking out but it remains gray. How can I
turn that off?

Go to Tools Options View. Set the Field shading dropdown to
"Never" or "When selected".

Hi Roberta,

In Tools=Options=View change the setting for
highlighting fields to 'when selected'.
