How do I frame my table of contents on the left side of paper
'Framing' (if you mean put the TOC into a Frame to align it) is not the way
to go. The TOC comprises a series of styles, namely TOC1 corresponding the Heading Level 1, TOC2 corresponding to Heading level 2 and so on. If you select TOC1, you can adjust its position/alignment using the Ruler. Once it is correct, right-click on the TOC1 style and select the 'Update to match selection' option and it will align all the other TOC1s in the TOC. Then do the same for TOC2 and so on until all the TOC levels have been done. Note that when making adjustments using the ruler, the alignment will move in increments 'snapping' to a hidden grid. You can 'micro-adjust' by holding down the ALT key whilst you drag the alignment tabs on the ruler which overrides the snap to grid action. -- Terry Farrell - MSWord MVP "thesuze" wrote in message ...
