Default Word 2007 - Watermarks

I put a draft watermark on a document produced in word 2007 - the document
was saved in the original word 2003 format and was sent to another person who
edited teh document (with no probs on word 2003) he then tried to remove the
watermark and failed. He returned the updated document to me and I tried to
remove it - and failed.

The only solution was copy the document section by section into a new
document, copying the whole document brought over the watermark - which
couldn't be removed.

The document does have tables in it - not sure if it makes a difference

It's a funny and a definite problem

Hi Simon,

I repro the issue here. I'll submit a bug on it.
You can remove the watermark yourself by switching to editing of header
or footer (in 2007, click insert, header, Edit header). You should then
be able to click on the watermark text (which is just a graphic) and
delete it.

I submitted a bug on it. The problem is that Word 2007 doesn't save the
watermark information correctly in the DOC file (it works fine with a
DOCX file). Therefore neither 2007 nor 2003 can delete the watermark
afterwards. Word 2007 can remove a watermark in a DOC file, if the
watermark was inserted with 2003.
For Beta 2, the only way to remove or change a watermark in a DOC file
that was inserted by 2007 is via editing the header and footer.
