Default Word 2003 Autocomplete of Dates Not Working

In previous versions of Word, one could type the first four (4) characters of
a date, i.e. "Octo" and the rest of the month would be inserted by touching
Enter. Then if one touched the space bar, the current date, i.e. "October 6,
2005" would come up and one could accept that by touching Enter.

What happens in Word 2003, is that I type "Octo". October comes up, but
when I touch Enter, but when I touch the space bar, nothing more occurs.
OR I type October in full, touch space and THEN the rest of the date appears.
Anybody know why? Thanks.

Hi Marc,
Thanks for replying. i want the complete date. In Word 2000, I would type
Octo. A tool tip would pop up instructing me to touch Enter to get October.
Then i would touch the Spacebar one time. A tool tip with October 6, 2005
would pop up instructing me to touch Enter to get the entire date. This is
what I want in Word 2003, which seems to do one or the other.

in Word 2003, I type Octo. a tool tip appears with October instructing me
to touch Enter. I do. October is inserted. i touch the spacebar one time
and nothing happens.
OR
I type October in full and touch the spacebar one time. A tool tip with
October 6, 2005 appears instructing me to touch Enter to get the entire date.
Why doesn't it do both as it did in previous versions?
Thanks,
Joseph

2003 completes a bit differently. Try again, but instead of hitting the space
bar, try the enter key. Type simply October and the full date should show up.
Try Octo and pause, the Word should show up.

Hope this helps, if you need additional assistance, feel free to contact me

No one knows why it doesn't behave the way it previously did, but that's the
way AutoComplete works in Word 2003. You and Marc have both described the
current behavior, and there is no way to change it.
