Default How do I create templates with shortcut keys and protect document?

I have attempted creating templates using autotext and shortcut keys then
protected the template as to prevent people adding in their styles while
using the template. Unfortunately the shortcut keys do not work. What am I
doing wrong?

When you are putting in the shortcut keys, you are not telling Word to save
them in your template.

Yes I did save the shortcut keys into my template because I noted that in the
Customize Keyboard dialogue box it asks where you would like to "Save changes
in:" and I changed it from the normal.dot to my newly created template.

I tested the shortcut keys to ensure that they are working and then saved
the template then set the Protect Document once that is on the shortcut keys
do not work, yet the AutoText and styles work fine?

Are the shortcut keys to the styles and AutoText or to macros?

Is the only protection for styles or is the document protected for forms?

The shortcut keys are to the styles and Auto Text only as I don't know much
about macros. Cheers

I'm stumped. I don't usually use style protection, but I tried doing what
you are doing and had no trouble with it.
