Has the Track changes issue been repaired?
When my company first moved from WP to Word 2002, some 2 years ago, one of
the problem most complained about was and error using track changes in length documents (doc 80+ pages long). There was a point in these documents, when compared with an earlier version of the same doc, that the bottom 1/3 of the document was shown as entirely NEW (or added) even when that was not the case. At the time, I remember, MS seemed to be aware of the problem and was working on a fix. In the meantime, we needed to get on with work. We purchased a comparing program by Workshare, called DeltaView. This allowed us to compare documents without a problem. However, it is simply a comparing program and does not allow staff to accept or reject changes. I am schedule to do a presentation, at our next staff meeting, in an effort to move staff towards using Word's Track Changes feature exclusively. Can anyone help me with information regarding the fix...has it been completed? Was it part of Service Pack 2? Anything else that could help me convince these people that they are duplicating work by using a comparing program instead of Track Changes? Thank you, in advance, for your help. Lorrie White |
