You use the tab key to tab forward, and the Tab+Shift keys together to Tab
backwards.

Default What does the back arrow on the tab key mean?

It represents the shifted action of the key. Shift+Tab moves the insertion
point backward in some specific situations (such as in tables, where Tab
takes you to the next cell and Shift+Tab to the previous cell). It can also
be used to promote outline levels if you have this feature enabled. It does
*not*, as you may have been told, "tab backward" in ordinary text (it can't
behave like the Margin Release on a typewriter, for example).
