Exhibit Page in Word document
We have been trying to create an Exhibit page using numbers instead of A, B,
C, since we have about 68 exhibits. Upon creating the Exhibit page, we have bookmarked the exhibit numbers within the document with index to cross reference to the page numbers as well. There are 3 columns, Exhibit #, Description (to be typed in later) and page numbers. Upon creating and updating the Exhibit numbers, the numbers come out as Exhibit 1, 10, 11, 12, etc. and then 2 is before 20, 21, 22, etc. and so forth. The page should read numerically. Has anyone experienced this and figured out how to get the numbers consecutively as 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, etc. without making manual corrections? Any assistance would be appreciated. |

Look into the Table of Contents feature.
Give your Exhibit pages names (Descriptions) using a heading style that is formatted for page break before. Begin the Exhibits with a new section so that your TOC will be in a separate section and restart the page numbering with the Exhibits section. I didn't explain very well in my original post, as all of our information is
listed on one exhibit page - the last page of the document - there are no separate exhibit pages, they are only referenced in the document. But, if I understand your second paragraph correctly, WORD will not create an Exhibit page correctly for the Exhibit numbering without using the 01, 02, 03, etc. Your post does help in that respect. This is the first time we have had this type of problem arise. Using Index does correctly give the page numbers that the reference to the exhibit appears on, but does list the numbers as stated in my original post. Plus, the references listed after your post are great! I really appreciate receiving those, as we did not know these legal info sites existed. Thank you so much for your input.
