Table of Contents styles don't stick - revert back
I created a Table of Contents in a Word 2002 doc, but when I go through the
document to apply styles to the headings and then update the TOC, the styles revert back to what they were before I applied what I want. I've tried it over and over, and tried it with section breaks, but nothing sticks and my TOC is a total mess. "Automatically update document styles" is unchecked. I have no idea why it's doing this. Help, please! |

Table of Contents styles don't stick - revert back
Are you trying to change the appearance of the TOC entries? If so, you
will have to modify the TOC styles. This can be done via the Index and Tables dialog box. On the Table of Contents tab, click the Modify button and then make the desired changes. Confirm the settings by clicking OK. However, click Close rather than OK to exit the Index and Tables dialog box (otherwise Word assumes that you want to insert an additional TOC or replace the current one). -- Stefan Blom Microsoft Word MVP "Emily" wrote in message ...
