Default How do I fill in a form in Word without printing it out first?

I am having trouble filling in the blank spaces in a form sent to me (job
application). I don't want to have to print the form out, fill it out by
hand, scan it back in and then send it. I'd rather fill out the form in Word,
then email it back; it looks much neater and more professional.

When I type in the words, it moves the formatting along with each letter I
type in. I've tried first clicking the "Insert" button on my keyboard, but
that doesn't seem to resolve the problem. I can't seem to find an answer to
this in Word help, either.

Any help available as to how to fill in a form in within Word without
changing the original form?

Many thanks!

This suggests that the form was designed to be printed out and filled in by
hand or typewriter. If it had been (properly) designed to be filled in
online, it wouldn't behave this way. You can either redo the form to make it
work or use it the way it was intended.
