displaying Italian words. I also noticed that when I inserted a custom date

I would check in 2 places:

1. Click TOOLS in the Word menu and select LANGUAGE and from the cascade
menu select SET LANGUAGE and verify that dictionary in use is English.

2. Go to the Windows Control Panel as double click on REGIONAL OPTIONS and
check the setting there to see if you have gone international unintentionally.
