.dot to .doc vb code disconnect
Shauna Kelly wrote a great article regarding the nature of what gets saved in
each of the word formats. I have read and pulled down several articles by various mvp's that cover this subject and I thought I got it... obviously I didn't. Can someone explain where I'm going wrong? Our master Word form templates are stored on the company network as .dot's. Each employee can access these templates thru Word-File New-FormTemplates. Macros stored in any of the templates, i.e., key commands and or menu items to help the employee run the code, work as long as the employee is 'attached' to the open master template on the network. When the employee saves the file as a .doc the accessibility ends. Following the articles posted, I have had the employee save a copy of the master to their Word Startup folder. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. Is there something I'm missing? |
