I want to open and save an office writer document in microsoft office.

Do you mean you want to create a Word document? If so, open Word, type,
save.

You'll need to save in Word format; Word cannot open OpenOffice documents.

If an add-in is required, my initial reply stands. Word (out of the box)
cannot open them.
