Loosing PDF toolbar
Using Acrobat Professional 7 in Office 2003 on win XP sp2 machines. I have a few machines that loose their pdf toolbars in word, excel, etc. On one the toolbar was just unchecked, but occasionally when the toolbar goes missing it disappears from the list of available toolbars. Also I cannot find pdfmaker.dot in any directory but I did find a series of DLLS that seemed to be tailored to the different office components in the adobe directory. Looking in the addons list acrobat does not seem to show up, even on the computer that I was able to re-check the toolbar. Nor does it show up in the Macro security window. I could just uninstall and reinstall and that will solve the issue for a time but within a few weeks the tool bar will just disappear again. Any thoughts on what could be causing this? -- Tyson.Vanover |

Loosing PDF toolbar
The Acrobat 7 settings are notorious about resetting themselves when
Acrobat installs patches. You should not have to re-install, but instead repair your Acrobat installation so that the PDF Maker tools are enabled again. I go to the Control Panel for Acrobat and Repair / Change. As for the PDFMaker.dot Acrobat 7 no longer uses the PDFMaker.dot file. Loosing PDF toolbar
I'm sorry I didn't see your note yesterday, because I had this problem only a
few weeks ago. All you need to do is pull down "Help" and click on "About Microsoft Office Word." Then click on "Disabled Items" and enable Acrobat. I hope this helps.
