Default Data from a backup disk when reloaded into Word 2003 has lost the.

I had to reinstall Windows XP. My Word 2003 documents were backed up. With
some difficulty I retrieved the documents. However, the file names have lost
most of the identyfying description making opening the correct file very
difficult and tedious. Is there a way of "re-retrieving" the files from the
backup disk with all the correct files names? Incidentally, my Favourites for
Internet Explorer suffered the same fate - all shortened names and in a
larger case.

Hi ?B?QldSLkJhc2lsZG9uLnVr?=,

You need to ask this in a WINDOWS newsgroup. Be sure to specify what kind of
back-up medium you used (zip-drive, tape, etc.). Most likely, this medium
doesn't support long file names (uses the old 8.3 format), or has been
configured to do so.
