Word Table: how do you set up formula Sub-Total + 5% GST
For the GST Amount in the cell where you want it to be displayed, type
=SUM(ABOVE) * .05 and then select that and press Ctrl+F9, which will enclose it in Field Delimiters { } as shown below. { =SUM(ABOVE) * .05 } Then press Alt+F9 to toggle off the display of the field codes and press F9 to update the field so that it shows the result. For Table Two, to subtract the entry in one cell from that in another cell, say a cell in the second column of the second row of a table and display the result in the third cell in that row, you would use { = A2 - B2 } in the third cell. You must use Ctrl + F9 to insert the { }. You cannot type them from the keyboard. You cannot in Word just copy such a formula down a column however as you can in Excel. You might consider as an alternative, using and Excel Spreadsheet into your document, which will allow you to make use of Excel's capabilities such as that. Alternatively, see fellow MVP Macropods tutorial on tutorial on formula field coding at: http://www.wopr.com/cgi-bin/w3t/show...?Number=365442 -- Hope this helps.
