How much text will fit in one cell using Word 2007?

So, is there a limit on the number of words you can fit in one cell? No, there isn't a limit. But if the table is "floating" instead of "in line with text", then it can't cross a page boundary. With the cursor in the table, go to the Table Tools Layout tab of the ribbon and click the Properties button near the left end. In the dialog, under "Text wrapping", click the None button and click OK. If the table is already in line (wrapping is None), maybe the row height is set to an exact value. In the same Properties dialog, click the Row tab. If the "Specify height" box is checked and the rightmost dropdown is set to "Exactly", either change the dropdown to "At least" or uncheck the box. -- Regards, Jay Freedman Microsoft Word MVP FAQ: http://word.mvps.org Email cannot be acknowledged; please post all follow-ups to the newsgroup so all may benefit. |

Actually, in Word 2002 and above, wrapped tables can by default be broken
across pages. For compatibility with earlier versions, however, you may wish to enable the Compatibility Option "Don't break wrapped tables across pages." -- Suzanne S.
